Throwback to a great first!…

For the past few days I have been thinking about this 11/11 “record” set by Alibaba. Indeed, the popular Chinese sales site sold more than $38.4 billion worth of goods in 24 hours!! I knew China, I imagine this popular enthusiasm, without reason guiding this influx of immediate purchase, but rather popular training. This idea of breaking a record all together, whatever it is. Communism leaves traces, up to the paroxysm of liberalism. I wonder how far we will go, should we be happy with this mountain of products sold in this country?

Every day the media talk to us about the circular economy, the idea of another economy enters into responsible companies. This economy that reduces the consumption of resources. It seems that we are only talking about this… This pleases me of course, because behind this economic word it is the protection of our environment that is targeted. But I can't help thinking that sometimes the man is totally schizophrenic or dishonest. How can you talk about the circular economy in the morning, and in the afternoon buy your 14th sweater, your 3rd mobile phone and the umpteenth tech gadget that will be used 3 times? The circular economy is not a fad that replaces digitalization or whatever trend in business. It is the long-term commitment for a better world, a daily commitment, a commitment to change which must first be individual. That's our vision at Use It Again, true engagement has to come through your own person, or it doesn't work. I cannot imagine that the convinced business leader, the one who is going to change his business strategy, who is going to engage his collaborators, who is going to motivate his team members to change, going home at night without performing any individual act, no matter how small be it. Doesn't he engage his entourage, his children, in this process as well if he is really convinced? I like to think so.

Our Chinese friends showed us a bad example, Black Friday will be really black for the Earth if you don't turn it into Green Friday. And every other day of the week too...
