In 1978, Michel Etévenon created the most legendary single- handed transatlantic race, starting from Saint-Malo, heading for Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.

 

BACK TO… 2018

On November 4, 2018, on a route unchanged from its origins, the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe was started .

An eleventh edition exceptional by its range of incredible athlete, divided between six classes of boats, and by the intense weather conditions known to the 123 sailors.

A unique starting line, time and day, on November 4, 2018 , the world of ocean racing has come together with a strong chapter in its history.

The solitaires were distributed in six main classes : Ultims, Imoca 60 feet, Multi50, Class40 and both classes Rum, monohull and multihull.

Only 78 of the 123 skippers arrived!
The Trimaran “Remade – Use It Again! ” of Romain Pilliard was one of them, ranked 4th in the Ultim class behind Francis Joyon, Francois Gabart, and Thomas Coville.
