ETA in Papeete: 4-5 April

Romain Pilliard and Christophe Colaris, the crew of the Trimaran Use It Again! by Extia have been at sea for 16 days now on the Pacific which, despite the first muscular hours in the Great South, has offered them beautiful sailing conditions in light trade winds. Three days before the arrival in Papeete on the island of Tahiti, Use It Again! by Extia slides to 13 – 15 knots and the wind should strengthen in the coming hours to the delight of our sailors!

"We are attacking the final stretch! To escape the petole that blocked our way to Tahiti, we had to do a little more road. We have just taken a very northerly route down to the Southwest on the Marquesas and Tuamotu.

It's nice, moving, it's the navigation of rebirth. I feel good with the boat, the conditions are easy, Use It Again! by Extia progress well. Since Easter Island, we are under gennaker, we sometimes put the J1 (Smaller front sail) at night because there are many more grains. We will arrive in Papeete in 2 or 3 days. I can't wait to conclude this beautiful first stage of this Westabout World Tour, new version! We will arrive in one of the most beautiful regions of the world. It really has a special flavor for me because I would never have imagined, this in January! I am also preparing for the next step, I have in mind that it will be long, I have half of the World Tour left before arriving in July in Lorient. I'm ready in my head, ready for this relative slowness, ready to take the time. I'm reading the book Damien around the world by Gérard Janichon, I think there's a bit of Damien in me... It's also a very personal adventure that I want to share with all of you. Romain on Use It Again! by Extia
