In the Saint-Malo whirlwind

The 12th edition of La Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe is officially launched in Saint-Malo! Among the eight competitors entered in the Ultimate category, the trimaran Use It Again by Extia still acts as the little Thumb in the queen category of the giants of offshore racing.

Located at the entrance to the village of the Route du Rhum, the trimaran Use It Again by Extia attracts the attention of the already very numerous visitors to the Corsair city. All day long, questions swirl around this boat, which is not quite like the others.“It’s great to be at the start of this event again. There is a particular effervescence in Saint-Malo, an air of dream and magic that floats above the basins. Four years ago, I was asked a lot about my presence among the big stars of offshore racing in the Ultimate. It is obvious that I am still Tom Thumb, but this year, I am happy that we can put more emphasis on the very essence of the Use It Again project. I have the opportunity to concretely explain everything we have done over the years in terms of reuse and recycling on the boat. The subject of sustainable development is at the forefront, it's a good thing to talk about it, but now we have to take concrete action, that's what we do every day. Use It Again by Extia is a good example in Saint-Malo of what can be applied to ocean racing», explains Romain Pilliard, skipper-activist.

Signings, media appointments, meetings with associations, visits to partners on the boat, sport, the days in Saint-Malo follow one another at full speed for Romain Pilliard with 9 days to go.
