Romain's explanations

"We have decided to change the starting point of our Round the World Record attempt due to the worsening health situation in Europe. We were supposed to leave from Cadiz to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Magellan and Elcano's circumnavigation of the globe, the first circumnavigation under sail, but there are already significant restrictions. To anticipate a situation that could deteriorate, and to remain close to our home port of La Trinité-sur-Mer, we have decided to cut the starting line between Lorient and the island of Groix. This change of course has been validated with the WSSRC, the organisation in charge of validating sailing records. Leaving from France also means that we have to look more closely at the right weather window to leave the Bay of Biscay, we are working with Christian Dumard, our meteorologist and router. For the time being, there doesn't seem to be any opportunity to leave in the next few days. explains Romain Pilliard, skipper of the Trimaran Use It Again!
